OUTDOORS: Reservation system changes

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is implementing a new policy with the Texas Parks Reservation System.
The change is expected to help provide greater access to high-demand facilities.
The TPWD is responding to customer feedback on the difficulty of obtaining reservations for popular park sites and facilities.
A two-date transfer limit will be imposed at all site types.
Any changes thereafter will require canceling the reservation, refunding the advanced deposit less administrative costs and making a new reservation for an available site.
The changes go into effect on June 1, and apply to all current and future reservations – regardless of park or site type.
Changes will help reduce wait times, and allow new reservations to be made in a reasonable amount of time.
Transfers initiated by the TPWD due to park closures, system errors or operator errors will not count toward customer transfer limits.
To make a reservation at any Texas state park, call 1-512-389-8900, or visit online at: tpwd.texas.gov/business/park_reservations/.
