REGIONAL: Cliff diving series returns to Graham this weekend

The Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series opens up this weekend with a tour stop from June 3-4 at Possum Kingdom in Graham.
Englishman Gary Hunt was the men’s winner last year, and he finished with a World Series-record point total (533.9).
Colombian legend Orlando Duque finished second and Russia’s Arten Silchenko was third.
Texas’ own Rachelle Simpson was the women’s winner, with Canada’s Lysanne Richard and American Ginger Huber also atop the podium.
Only the top-3 divers will reach the podium.
Possum Kingdom provides a spectacular backdrop, and divers perform their craft splashing into the Brazos River’s first water supply reservoir – affectionately known as Hell’s Gate Cliffs.
The platform is typically about 90-feet high, with 22 possible combinations for dives. Read more in the June 1 Bowie News.
