Lancaster finishes well for Bowie boys’ cross country
The Bowie High School boys cross country team opened the season on Thursday at the Perkins Invitational at the Perkins Scout Camp in rural Burkburnett.
Burkburnett Independent School District was the meet host.
Bowie’s competed in the junior varsity boys division, and raced against many larger schools including Wichita Falls, Wichita Falls Rider and Odessa.
Pierce Lancaster recorded the Jackrabbits’ fastest time on the five-kilometer course, clocking in at 21 minutes, 1.51 seconds and placing in the top-25.
Zeke Vaughan posted a time of 21:03.78, and also finished in the top-25. Hadley Morgan raced in with a time of 21:43.02, and Gabe Allen (24:48.87).
Keck Jones, Lane Shields, Mitch Sanders and Nick Wayendt also ran for the Jackrabbits.
