Get your tickets now for Mad Hatter Tea
Tickets are still available for the 12th Annual Mad Hatter Tea and Style Show at 2 p.m. on Aug. 6 at the Bowie First United Methodist Church fellowship hall, 1515 Jefferson.
This event is presented by the Amity Club and Bowie Alliance for Education and the Arts. While enjoying delicacies and teas, guests will be entertained viewing fashions from local area boutiques and fashion stores.
Tables for the tea will be uniquely decorated by 18 different hostesses. In keeping with the Mad Hatter theme, all who attend are encouraged to wear a hat, eloquent or outrageous.
Tickets are $15 per person, and may be purchased at the Main Street Bowie office at 201-A Walnut Street. Seating capacity is limited to 134 persons, so advance ticket purchase is highly recommended.
All proceeds benefit scholarship funds of both Amity and the Bowie Alliance. For more information or to reserve tickets call 872-6246.

Bowie, Nocona libraries wrap up summer reading this week
Local libraries wrap up their children’s summer reading programs this week.
The Bowie Public Library brings the popular Creature Teacher with all their spectacular animals for the final event on July 23 at the Bowie Community Center.
The program begins at 10 am. The children also will receive their prize books for their summer logs.
The Nocona Public Library ends its program at 10 a.m. on July 24 at the H.J. Justin Building at 100 Clay Street. The program will be “Our Own Action Heroes -” Nocona fire, police and EMTs.
