The Bowie High School athletic season started on Saturday night with “Meet The Rabbits.”
It was the culmination of a busy day, which includes team photographs and a full-day volleyball scrimmage in the gymnasium.
“It’s a big tradition to get all the sports teams together,” said Bowie athletic director and football coach Dylan Stark. “It’s a good deal.”
Stark said “Meet the Rabbits” has been going on as long as he could remember; including his past 11 season as either an assistant or head football coach at BHS.
One of the most anticipated events at “Meet the Rabbits” will be a tug-of-war between the volleyball parents and their children.
That means Christy Baker, who is coordinating all the games for the event, will compete against her daughter, Maddie.
Football players will square off against their fathers in another tug-of-war contest.
Musical chairs has been a big hit at “Meet the Rabbits” in recent years. However, Chase Hall (11) has graduated and will not be around to defend his two-time championship. Also photographed is former mascot and volleyball player Madeline Page. (News file photo by Eric Viccaro)
