HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL: Phipps, Fenoglios fuel Nocona victory

The Nocona High School volleyball team opened the 2016 season with a four-set victory on the road at Iowa Park on Tuesday.
The Lady Indians won by scores of 25-20, 25-20, 21-25, 25-17.
Payton Ferguson and Patricia Espinoza powered the Lady Indians with a combined 25 kills.
With Chloey Hamilton sidelined, others had to step in the setting department.
Karson Phipps and Trystin Fenoglio combined for 34 assists. Phipps also served up three aces.
All-state libero Magye Fenoglio contributed 18 digs while Emma Meekins had seven digs and Rachel Patrick displayed versatility with five kills, six digs and three solo ace blocks. Read more in the Aug. 13 Bowie News.
