Nocona Elementary School is under new leadership as it heads into the 2016-2017 school year, welcoming both a new principal and assistant principal.
Rod Bailey has waited patiently for the right opportunity in the right district to come along and he says Nocona is it. As Bailey takes the helm as new principal at NES, he brings eight years of experience as an assistant principal at Haltom Middle School in the Birdville Independent School District.
Bailey replaces Gilpatrick Peyton, who retired at the end of last school year after 10 years with Nocona.
Windi Womack hopes to bring her passion for teaching and instructional planning to Nocona Elementary in her new role as assistant principal.
“I moved to administration so I could help in the instructional leadership role,” said Womack. “I want to help others be the best they can be. “
The new administrator replaces Amber Rains.
