The Bowie High School volleyball team in years past may have been pressed to sweep district foe Paradise.
Except for the first set, the Lady Rabbits really didn’t have any problems breaking out the brooms to beat host Paradise by scores of 25-23, 25-19, 25-12 on Tuesday in District 3A-8 action.
“We got a slow start,” Bowie head coach Jeanie Stark said. “But, we did what we had to do in the first set to win 25-23.”
Stark said the Lady Rabbits didn’t get into a rhythm until the third set.
“We have improved tremendously on the mental part of the game,” Stark said. “But, it’s still a process and we remind them daily and throughout the matches.”
Stark said the players refocused and reset their minds well after points that didn’t go their way. Bowie improved to 18-11 overall and 3-1 in 3A-8.
