Published

on

Christmas comes to Bowie next week as the Fantasy of Lights Christmas Festival welcomes the season with one of the area’s biggest and longest running lighted Christmas parades on Dec. 1.
After last week’s Hanging of the Greens the community has begun to sparkle for the holiday season. The Bowie Community Development Board (formerly Main Street Bowie) presents a variety of activities across two days to celebrate the season. This will be the 27th year for the Christmas parade.
Activities begin on Nov. 30 with the Sip & Stroll from 5-9 p.m. Participating merchants will have the Sip & Stroll glasses and armbands for sale at $10. Guests can use a previously purchased Sip & Stroll glass, but they must present an armband to receive the wine samplings and snacks.
Bright and early Saturday morning Breakfast with Santa will take place from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Bowie Community Center. Presented by the City of Bowie Fire Department there will be free photos with Santa and pancakes will be served.
