Staff evaluation, budget workshop on Tuesday

The Bowie City Council has scheduled a special meeting for 5:30 p.m. on July 23 in the council chambers to discuss the budget and conduct staff evaluations. This agenda was posted at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

The workshop for fiscal 2019-20 is the first item on the agenda.

An executive session is set to discuss employment, evaluation and duties of the city secretary, municipal court judge and city manager. Council members asked last week to do the evaluations earlier in order to be better prepared for budget work.

A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter

Repairs prompt boil order

A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
