The Bowie Lady Rabbits won the silver bracket championship at its second tournament in Glen Rose during the weekend.
The Lady Rabbits beat district foe Henrietta to win the championship on Saturday.
The tournament did not start off well for Bowie. The Lady Rabbits lost their first two matches in pool play to Bridgeport and Andrews.
Bowie was able to rebound and finish pool play strong by getting wins against Wichita Falls High School and Clifton without dropping a set.
The Lady Rabbits qualified for the silver bracket on Saturday.
Bowie first played La Vega. The Lady Pirates were able to take a set off the Lady Rabbits, but Bowie came through with the win in the third set.
The Lady Rabbits had an easier time against the private school girls from North Central Texas Academy from Granbury.
Bowie did not drop a set against the Lady Pirates to qualify for the championship game to play a familiar foe.
Henrietta has been a district opponent for the Lady Rabbits for awhile.
While Bowie won both of its district matchups against the Lady Cats last year, Henrietta finished just beneath the Lady Rabbits in the district standings and gave Bowie all it could handle in those games.
Its a new season and the Lady Rabbits showed it, winning the match in straight sets to win the championship.
