Saint Jo volleyball wins at Gold-Burg

Montague County teams Gold-Burg and Saint Jo faced off on Tuesday night at Gold-Burg.
The Lady Panthers, hot off their tournament win at Savoy, gave it to the Lady Bears as they won in straight sets.
The first set was close for the opening 20 points or so. Eventually Saint Jo pulled away thanks to some hot serving and a spout of bad serve-receive from Gold-Burg. The Lady Panthers won 25-14.

The second set saw Saint Jo pick up where it left off in the first set. The Lady Panthers held an 11-4 lead and never let the lead get any closer.
The Lady Bears’ usually strong serving they rely on to get back into sets, could not get going as the errors started to pile up. Saint Jo won the second set 25-12 to go up two sets.
Gold-Burg got into it in the third set. Trailing 7-3, the Lady Bears came back to tie the score early 10-10 to keep the set close. It did not last long.
Like the first set, the Lady Panthers got some good serving that forced Gold-Burg out-of-system several times as the lead grew. Every time the Lady Bears needed to rally, a service error would be committed and the ball would go back to another Saint Jo server. The Lady Panthers closed strong as they won the third set 25-17 to win the match.
