Three injured in early morning accident Tuesday
Nocona Fire Department responded to this two-vehicle wreck at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday on United States Highway 81, north of Dutton Road. Department of Public Safety Trooper Ronnie Nelson investigated. This blue Dodge pickup driven by Gerardo Lopez-Montes, 27, was traveling southbound in the northbound lane of U.S. 81 when he attempted to pass and collided with a 2005 Ford FM 350 pickup driven by Roger Clyde Magee, 52, Jayess, MS, who was traveling north in the northbound lane. Both drivers and a passenger in the Magee vehicle, were transported to Nocona General Hospital by Nocona and Bowie EMS. A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter
A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
