Three injured in early morning accident Tuesday

Nocona Fire Department responded to this two-vehicle wreck at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday on United States Highway 81, north of Dutton Road. Department of Public Safety Trooper Ronnie Nelson investigated. This blue Dodge pickup driven by Gerardo Lopez-Montes, 27, was traveling southbound in the northbound lane of U.S. 81 when he attempted to pass and collided with a 2005 Ford FM 350 pickup driven by Roger Clyde Magee, 52, Jayess, MS, who was traveling north in the northbound lane. Both drivers and a passenger in the Magee vehicle, were transported to Nocona General Hospital by Nocona and Bowie EMS. Montague County Grand Jury issues November indicted cases

The following indictments were filed with the 97th District Clerk following the November session of the Montague County Grand Jury.
There were a total of 13 indictments with one sealed awaiting the arrest of a suspect.
A grand jury indictment is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

New transformer arrives at Bowie substation

The new transformer was placed on its pad when it arrived at the City of Bowie electrical substation last Friday. Installation of this 20 Mva transformer, which is larger than the two 1992 original 12.5 units, will begin this week and come on line early in the new year. (Courtesy photos)
