National Guard helps disinfect at Grace Care

Published

Montague County Emergency Management Coordinator Kelly McNabb said Tuesday at noon members of the National Guard were at Grace Care Center in Nocona helping disinfect the facility.
McNabb said he was contacted by nursing home officials to let the community know the situation and know there was not an emergency.
“The guard is there in their white safety suits, but they are not testing for COVID-19, they are spraying disinfectant to curb diseases. They are sanitizing, which they have done periodically,” explained McNabb.
In August Health and Human Services conducted a review of Grace Care’s virus protocols after more than a dozen residents and staff tested positive for COVID-19. It takes two positives to trigger an HHSC review to help stop any spread.
