Flu shot drive up clinic set
There will be a drive-through flu shot clinic starting at 7 a.m. on Oct. 19 at First Christian Church, 601 East Greenwood in Bowie.
The cost will be insurance billed or self-pay at $25.
The drive-through flu shot clinic offers a safe and convenient option to obtain their flu shot. Participants are asked to wear a mask to the clinic. This event is presented through Faith Community Health System.
The regular meeting of the Bowie City Council for July 22 has been cancelled. City Manager Bert Cunningham and Mayor Gaylynn Burris will be attending the Texas Public Power Association conference.
City of Bowie officials were on hand to inspect the emergency electrical generators that were delivered last week.
Mayor Gaylynn Burris and City Manager Bert Cunningham inspected one of three emergency electrical generators purchased as part of an ongoing Federal Emergency Management Agency Hazard Mitigation Grant. They also talked with Jay Evans, head of the city electric department, and Jerry Sutton, director of the water treatment plant about the next step for installation of the generators.
This grant provides funding for one 150 kW and two 250 kW generators for use at the water treatment plant.
