County may replace McCaig as authority as he fights COVID

The Montague County Commissioner’s Court will meet in executive session at 9 a.m. on Dec. 8 to discuss the county local health authority.
County Judge Kevin Benton said Health Authority Dr. Delbert McCaig is in the hospital battling COVID-19.

“I want to discuss it with the court. I think we will have to replace him with everything that is going on right now,” said Judge Benton.

On Dec. 4 the state COVID dashboard shows 90 active cases in Montague County and 19 fatalities.

A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter

Repairs prompt boil order

A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
