Jackrabbits blow out City View 23-0

Published

on

The Bowie Jackrabbits bounced back from three straight losses with a blow-out win against City View on Tuesday on senior night.
The Jackrabbits won 23-0 in four and half innings due to run-rule against the Mustangs in a game that was late to start due to a lightning delay before the game could start.
Bowie was coming off close losses to Jacksboro and Holliday during district play while also losing a non-district game at Grandview.
The Jackrabbits left no doubt the outcome of Tuesday’s game once it got started.
The team scored five runs in the first inning, nine runs in the second and eight in the third inning. Bowie added one more in the fourth inning, but it was all over at that point.
The Jackrabbits finished with 13 hits as City View fielder’s committed nine errors while the pitchers walked eight batters and hit three.
Jake Fallis led Bowie with five RBIs as he hit a double and a triple. Zach Gilmore drove in three runs while hitting two doubles. Colton Richey also drove in three runs to lead the team.
Carson Sanders and Kynan DeMoss pitched two innings each while Brody Armstrong picked up the one inning save. None of them gave up any runs or base hits. Only two walks given up prevented the bullpen from pitching a perfect game.

Published

New Saint Jo Boy’s Basketball Coach Terry McLennan said the school’s family atmosphere is what prompted him to join the Panther family.

“This is an opportunity to be an important program but also part of a great community,” McLennan said. “I’ve been looking to get back to a small town environment like the one I grew up in and played ball and this should do that.”

McLennan played basketball in Hubbard outside of Waco. McLennan comes to town after being the assistant girl’s basketball coach in Grand Prairie.

McLennan contends he’s a defensive style of coach but says his team will focus on intensity.
