Bowie City Council debates closing a small portion of road at request of WL Plastics
After much debate, the Bowie City Council voted 6-1 to close a small portion of Old Wise Road to allow WL Plastics to secure its property with new fencing and use it as a private drive.
Tuesday night, the planning and zoning commission recommended approval of the two requests from WL Plastics; however, council members questioned if this change meets the fire code and if the city can give up its land. Jerry Rodgers, local manager of the Bowie plastic pipe plant, explained the requests. Item one: WL Plastics, 1110 Old Wise Road, to close .57 portion for the proposed use as a private drive.
