The Saint Jo Panthers season came to an end at the hands of state-ranked Perrin-Whitt on Tuesday.
The Pirates won 48-33 against Panthers, ousting Saint Jo in the bi-district round of the second straight year.
The Panthers came into the game knowing it would be tough.
Despite splitting games against a Midway team that finished one game ahead, they could not pull out a close game against district leader Slidell in the regular season finale to hopefully try and jump up the seeding.
Finishing third meant another year playing top 10 ranked Perrin-Whitt, which might be the only other second seed in 1A ranked as high only because it shares a district with defending state champion Graford.
