Workman loses appeal from MLB suspension

Major League Baseball had a hearing on June 13, and listened as former Bowie High School and current Boston Red Sox pitcher Brandon Workman appealed his suspension.
On Wednesday, Workman’s appeal was denied and he began serving his suspension immediately.
MLB Executive Vice President of Administration John McHale made the announcement official.
Workman missed his start Friday when the Red Sox began a series with the American League West-leading Oakland Athletics. Felix Doubront replaced Workman on the hill for Boston.
He will be available to return on Tuesday. For more on the story, read the weekend edition of The Bowie News.
