Bowie tennis falls to Burkburnett

The Bowie tennis team was challenged by 4A Burkburnett on the road Tuesday.
It was a tough result as the Bulldogs won 15-4 against the Jackrabbits.
All four wins came from the girl’s side. The second position girl’s doubles team of Willow Siebert and Alyssa Airington came through, winning their sets 6-4 and 7-5.
Both girls also came through in their singles matches. Siebert in second position won her match 8-4 while Airington won her fourth position match 8-2. The other win came from the first position girl’s singles match as Heidi Siebert won the closest match for Bowie, coming through winning 8-6.
The Jackrabbits had one other close match that unfortunately did not go their way on Tuesday. The third position girls doubles team of Leah Cantrell and Gentry Gray lost the first set 6-4, but came back to win set two 6-3.
The match went to tie-breakers and it was Burkburnett who came through, winning 10-5.
