MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL: Workman demoted to Pawtucket

Published

on

Former Bowie High School pitcher Brandon Workman didn’t make the Boston Red Sox final 25-man regular-season roster when it was announced late last week.
Workman will work from the bullpen for the Triple-A Pawtucket PawSox based in Rhode Island.
Red Sox manager John Farrell discussed the move.
“He (Brandon) is moving in the right direction for sure,” Farrell said in a story found on WEEI.com, a radio station based in Boston. “There were some tangible adjustments he made. Because of the early camp performance, he found himself behind some other guys.
“But, more importantly, he takes with him that he’s on the right path and he’s performed at a high level here at shorter stints for us. We’re well aware of what he’s capable of, and he’s just in a better place as far as throwing the baseball right now,” Farrell added.

Saint Jo hosted its own volleyball tournament Sept. 10-12.

In its first match, the Lady Panthers bested Sam Rayburn in a b est-of-three match 2-1 (25-11, 23-25, 25-14.)
