Sketch outlines face of robbery suspect

Bowie Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who robbed the Mason Street Mall at gunpoint on June 4.

The robbery occurred shortly before closing at 5 p.m. at 205 Mason. The female clerk said she was robbed at gunpoint by a masked, unknown white male.  Detective Kent Stagg said the suspect is described as a white male in his mid-20s, clean shaven with short to medium dark hair. he was approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing a black baseball cap, black framed sunglasses. He had a blue bandanna tied around the neck of a blue collared polo style pullover shirt and darker colored blue jeans.

Montague County Grand Jury issues November indicted cases

The following indictments were filed with the 97th District Clerk following the November session of the Montague County Grand Jury.
There were a total of 13 indictments with one sealed awaiting the arrest of a suspect.
A grand jury indictment is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

New transformer arrives at Bowie substation

The new transformer was placed on its pad when it arrived at the City of Bowie electrical substation last Friday. Installation of this 20 Mva transformer, which is larger than the two 1992 original 12.5 units, will begin this week and come on line early in the new year. (Courtesy photos)
