Bowie Police add officers, revise command structure
Bowie Police Department has filled out its ranks after several months of change and restructuring.
The department has undergone many changes since January, including the appointment of a new chief with Guy Green.
After his appointment as chief in mid-June, Green named Sgt. Kent Stagg assistant chief, filling the second in command position that had been vacant since Green was appointed interim. Stagg had been moved up to detective at the end of February and has been with the department 10 years.
Following the retirement of Detective Gary Studebaker at the end of January and the departure of Detective Sherry Stone at the end of February, Rick Beckham was promoted to head up the criminal investigation division as a lieutenant.
Beckham works CID with Detectives Randy Hanson, promoted from patrol in March and Josh Wolfe, promoted from patrol at the end of June. The command structure continues with Kurt Berryman, patrol lieutenant and Nikki Archer, patrol sergeant.
The patrol force has welcomed two officers during the midst of these changes Megan Johnson and Brian Keating.
