Upper Trinity Groundwater Conservation District provides court with update

Published

on

Officials with the Upper Trinity Groundwater Conservation District gave a quarterly update to the Montague County Commissioner’s Court Monday noting work in well monitoring and registration, as well as education.

Doug Shaw, general manager, spoke to the court explaining the most recent round of well monitoring had been completed in Montague County. He said while the spring rains were record amounts, they created only minor changes in some wells.

“We have launched a district-wide campaign on well registration and that advertising has brought in more new registrations in one month than in three years. Registration is not required, but we can’t protect it if we don’t know,” said Shaw. Read the full story on this update in the mid-week News.
