Lightning takes out radio transmitter
Sometimes mother nature is your friend and sometimes not so much. The KNTX transmitter was hit by lightning during the thunderstorm than came through Bowie early Sunday morning.
Pam Henderson, station owner, said listeners will not be able to hear KNTX on AM 1410 at the moment. However, listeners can still listen to the online stream at kntxradio.com or through the tune-in app.
Some local programming may be absent this week, but the staff will have the Bowie football game online this Friday.
“We apologize for this inconvenience, but these circumstances were beyond our control,” said Henderson.
AM 1410 audio will be restored as soon as possible.
The City of Bowie reports an EXTREME HEAT WARNING will be in effect from 8 p.m. tonight until 8 p.m. tomorrow night. Please be careful.
