BISD Trustees extend contracts for principals

Bowie Independent School District approved contracts for all its principals and several directors after a 90-minute executive session Thursday night.
Principals at all four campuses received a one-year extension on their contracts. They include: Sergio Menchaca, high school; Jeneanne Fleming, junior high; Lee Ann Farris, intermediate and Kathy Green, elementary. Assistant Superintendent Christie Walker, Athletic Director Cory Mandrell, Brad Costello, director of the alternative education program and Wayne Walker, director of operations, also received one-year extensions.
Superintendent performance goals also were presented and accepted by the board. Blake Enlow offered the following goals for 2020-21 outlining strategies, measurement and evidence:
• Student outcomes, providing a culture of high expectations for individual and collective excellence.
• Learning environment, providing the necessary support to foster an optimal teaching and learning environment that develops student and teacher excellence.
• Community and parent engagement, provide a culture of high expectations for individual and collective excellence.
• District operations, provide a culture of high expectations for individual and collective excellence.

A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter

Repairs prompt boil order
A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
