Commissioners conduct brief agenda of business
It took the Montague County Commissioners less than 10 minutes to go through their brief agenda of business on Monday.
Constables Stefanie Horton and Ronnie Reynolds presented the annual federal racial profiling report. The officers file exempt status and there are no changes from the prior year.
In the mitigation plan update, County Judge Rick Lewis said Archer County is the first in the region to have its plan back and approved by the state and Federal Emergency Management Agency. Five more plans, including Montague County, is awaiting FEMA approval.
The bond renewal for Kristi Vineyard, a clerk in the tax assessor’s office was approved, along with the annual termite maintenance agreement for the courthouse.
Precinct three got approval to take $1,000 in unanticipated revenue from the sale of two surplus bridges be accepted and place it in machinery and equipment.
A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter
A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
