Pat was born Patricia Ann Nelms, the youngest of six children, to Harry and Lela Nelms on Oct.10, 1933, in Hugo, OK.
Following a proper courtship, she, and Edgar Eugene (Gene) Knox were married on Oct. 10, 1953. Remaining together for 61 years and five months until his passing on March 15, 2015.
As her children, we are blessed to have been raised with a moral compass, and given direction by two Godly parents who led by example. As children, Mom was always there when we came home from school for lunch and to meet us at the end of the day. She will be missed. Our joy now comes knowing that as a Christ follower she is as the Apostle Paul wrote, “absent from the body, present with the Lord.”
She is preceded in death by husband Gene Knox; parents Harry and Lela Nelms; sisters Methel Totten, Mary Louise Fry, Avis Hoell and Joe Shirley Hughey and brother Harry Nelms.
Pat is survived by children Wayne Knox and wife Rita, Keith Knox, and Rachel Knox, all of Bowie; grandchildren Seth Knox and wife Brittany, Conroe and Joshua Knox and wife Katie, Denison; great-grandchildren Kaye Knox, Diesel Knox, Madelyn Knox and Landri Knox; sisters-in-law Mary Louise Mayfield, Hugo, OK and Lottie Smith, Tipton, OK; and many nieces and nephews.
Thank you to the staff of Advanced Rehabilitation and Healthcare of Bowie and Hospice of Wichita Falls Texas for the compassion and care shown to our mother.
