Members of the Montague County Commissioner’s Court hired a new secretary for the commissioners and heard a presentation of the work done by the TEEA members during the past year.
The ladies of the Texas Extension Education Association met with the court along with Melanie Stott, county agriculture extension agent, who gave the report for the club. The Bowie club has about 20 members and meets once a month.
These TEEA members have reached 207 people through its various programs and activities during the year including their work with county 4-H students. Topics for programs have included healthy aging, canning and family literacy. They have accumulated a total of 860.75 volunteer hours which equates said Stott to $41,736.68 if hours are quantified to dollars.
Commissioners thanked the ladies for their work with young people and others in the county.
