Nocona High OAP goes to district contest
Chrissy Shubert, director of the Nocona High School one-act play, said although this is her first year to take on the production she is “excited to share this talented group of students without community.”
Their play is “Brian the Comet” by Emily Hageman and it focuses around the inner turmoil of a 17-year-old girl named Jude as her father dies of lung cancer. During her emotional journey, Judge befriends a hospital patient named Brian. The two teeNs must learn that even though light is short and unpredictable, humans must still find the beauty and joy in living.
“Out ensemble has worked hard to put together an amazing performance that touches audiences and encourages us all to look for the joy in life,” states the Shubert.
They will perform at district competition at 2 p.m. on March 20 at Olney High School. Shubert is director and assistant director is Christy James.
