Bowie Independent School District Trustees continue their interview process for a new superintendent this week and while the Thursday agenda lists naming a lone finalist the list of candidates is narrowing as they call for second interviews with their top prospects.
Interviews continue with a meeting at 5:30 p.m. on June 26. The board has been conducting interviews during the past week to fill the vacancy left by Blake Enlow, when he left on May 23.
The district received 25 applicants given to the board last week by Region 9 Education Service Center staff.
The agenda for 5:30 p.m. Thursday lists a budget amendment under consent and in closed session superintendent interviews and naming of a lone finalist. A similar agenda is set for a 6 p.m. July 2 meeting. Districts have a 21-day window before any final offer is made to a candidate.
