County commissioners handle brief agenda
Montague County Commissioners conducted a very brief court meeting on Monday.
A motion to table an interlocal agreement between precinct two and the Bowie Baseball Association related to the sports complex was approved. County Judge Kevin Benton said the agreement document had not arrived. The matter is expected to be rescheduled after it arrives.
A request from precinct three for a line-item budget adjustment moving $15,000 from operating expenses to part-time was accepted.
Only one sealed bid was received for various types of emulsified asphalt and prime oil from Ergon Asphalt, was approved.
The consent agenda of minutes, bills and payroll was accepted.

The annual summer chlorine conversion at the City of Bowie Water Treatment Plant will run Aug. 6 to Sept. 5.
Jerry Sutton, plant supervisor, said customers may notice some minor odor and taste issues with the water during this period as the treatment system changes disinfectant. This is a yearly state mandate for the conversion. Questions may be directed to the water plant at 940-872-6414
The plant uses a combination of ammonia and chlorine called chloramines. Across a period of time those ingredients build up in the system and it takes a change to straight chlorine across 28 days to clear it out. At the end of 30 days the water should return to normal.
