For the first time ever, Saint Jo Head Girls Basketball Coach Glenn Boerger has been selected to coach the girls’ all-star game at the Texas Six-Man Coaches Association Conference in Wichita Falls.
“It’s a fun opportunity for me,” said Boerger, who guided the Panthers to a 19-8 record this past season. “I get to work with kids from different schools, and it’s an opportunity to represent Saint Jo.”
Boerger said all-star week means a lot to all of the athletes.
“This is a showcase game,” he said. “It’s what the girls have worked for, and worked hard in their high school career. For a lot of them, this will be the last chance to put on a uniform.”
The all-star game is slated for 1 p.m. on Saturday at D.L. Ligon Coliseum at Midwestern State University. Read more in the mid-week edition of The Bowie News.
