on

City of Bowie water customers in the Amon Carter Water Supply District and Silver Lakes Addition are expected to be without water service starting in the early morning hours of Aug. 6 as repair work is done on the treated main.
Joe Lyon, head of the water distribution system, said a repair crew is scheduled to arrive at 7 a.m. Wednesday morning to cut out a section of the 14 inch concrete main. The bad part of the line will be removed, the line dressed out with fittings and that section of pipe will be replaced with plastic line.
Treated water to the water district will be off starting around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, and possibly to Silver Lakes. Lyon said that won’t be known for sure about Silver Lakes until they get into the repair. Customers in both area should be prepared to be without water during the repair.
