Bowie ISD Board finalizes its facility improvements using remaining bond money

Published

on

After several months of debating different facility improvements for the remaining bond funds, the Bowie School Board Thursday night approved six projects that will touch multiple schools.
The board also renewed all the administrator contracts following an executive session for the annual contract reviews. Staff receiving new contracts include all principals, curriculum director, chief financial officer, technology director, director support services, PEIMs director and the district alternative education program director.
Turning back to the bond revenues, trustees reviewed a list of possible projects and began prioritizing them. Chief Financial Officer Jonathan Pastusek said there is about $650,000 left in the bond funds.
Some of the ideas touch on long-term needs like additional classroom space at the junior high, but most center on immediate needs and improvement. Read the full story in the weekend News.
