HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL: Bowie rallies yet again

The Bowie High School baseball team pushed three runs across in the sixth inning to rally and beat homestanding Pilot Point 5-3 on Monday.
Northeast Texas Community College signee Chandler Dean went 2-for-3 with a triple, two walks and three runs scored for the Jackrabbits.
Barrett Brooks and Lawson Mickler both went 2-for-4, but neither of them scored. Juan Mares and Pete Cunningham also scored runs. Both of Mickler’s hits were doubles.
Bowie tallied single runs in the first and fourth innings, but then Pilot Point plated three in the bottom of the fifth.
That set up the Jackrabbits’ rally in the sixth. The game went nine innings.
Dean also pitched 2-2/3 innings with seven strikeouts and two walks. Brooks was the lone Bowie pitcher to yield any runs. Read more in the Feb. 20 Bowie News.
