Forestburg wraps up scrimmage schedule
By BLAKE WOOD

Forestburg took final preparations for the regular season Thursday as it played Bryson in a scrimmage at home.
“We were going up against a good team; I was a little apprehensive at first,” said Longhorns head coach Wayne Tuckwell. “But they were out there ready to play. I was pleased with the intensity and overall effort.”
The varsity group played 20 offensive and defensive plays in the first set, which they were victorious in.
The junior varsity next played 15 offensive and defensive plays. The two teams tied this set.
The scrimmage concluded with a live quarter, and Bryson took the victory. However, the quarter between the Cowboys and Longhorns was highly competitive.
Tuckwell said he wants to run a split backfield, tight formation and spread offensively, and he liked what he saw out of the spread offense.
“The spread was very successful,” he said. “I was more interested in seeing how the other two formations would work, but I’m confident that we can run any of them.” Read more in the weekend edition of The Bowie News.

Though I am writing this in April the garden season in Georgia has been a blast and Fresco has been my favorite. You no doubt are pondering what Fresco is?
Well Fresco is a new hydrangea making its debut this year. So, I better get the correct name front and center. It is Fairytrail Fresco Cascade Hydrangea.
So, the fact that The Garden Guy is telling you I have fallen madly in love with a hydrangea that has been blooming in April already starts to stir the imagination.
Proven Winners tells everyone up front that it is early to bloom but Fairytrail Fresco was already blooming when other hydrangeas were deciding if they were going to live through the winter with the repeating vortex.
