ALERT: Water line repair will halt water service in lake area

Published

on

Residents on Farm-to-Market Road 1225 near Turkey Creek Road and customers of the Amon Carter Water Supply District will be without water and under a boil under while a section of the main water line is repaired.
Jerry Sutton, supervisor at the water plant, said a crew will replace a 20-foot section of a 14-inch fresh water line that will impact service from 992 FM 1125 to Turkey Creek Road, and the water supply district.
“They hopefully will be able to turn water back on by 3 or 4 p.m. on Wednesday, but after that it will have to be boiled until the tests are completed. I hope to have results on Friday,” explained Sutton.
The repairs will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Residents may want to set some water aside for use during the repair period.
Sutton said they have experience several leaks in this one spot on and off for a while, so they have decided to cut out the bad section and put in a new piece of pipe.
