Montague County schedules two grant hearings

Published

on

Montague County will conduct a pair of public hearings on Thursday related to separate grant programs.
The first hearing is at 5:05 p.m. on Oct. 12 in regard to the submission of an application to the Texas General Land Office for a Texas Community Development Block Grant/Disaster Relief Grant.
During this meeting citizens can discuss their participation plan, community development needs, the amount of available funding, eligible activities and the use of past grant. The county commissioners hope to obtain grant funding that could assist in repairs from major flooding repairs undertaken by the county during the last two years.
The second year is a “close-out” hearing for contract No. 7215341 at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 12.
During this hearing citizens can comment on the installation of approximately 11,300 gallons of emulsion, 2,600 tons of assorted chip rock and 630-feet of culverts. These improves were funded by a grant from the Texas Department of Agriculture.
County officials don’t know the amount of reimbursement yet, but it relates to the 25 percent match provided for disaster relief funds from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
