CROSS COUNTRY: Cantwell, Diaz both finish top-30

For Nocona High School’s Miriam Diaz, the University Interscholastic League Conference 3A girls meet marked the end of the line.
For Bowie’s Kamryn Cantwell, the journey is just beginning.
Cantwell, a freshman, clocked in with a time of 12 minutes, 38.74 seconds over the two-mile course at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. It was good enough for 19th.
Diaz was roughly six seconds behind, recording a time of 12:44.78, and that placed her in 28th.
Those two were the only representatives from Montague County and The Bowie News coverage area.
Holliday’s dazzling Cryslan Tucker won the meet in a blazing time of 11:55.84. Like Cantwell, Tucker is just a freshman.
