Saint Jo City Council meets Wednesday
Looks like major water improvements are set to take place in Saint Jo.
At 6 p.m. Nov. 12, the City of Saint Jo will have a regular council meeting in council chambers located at 220 E. Howell Street.
The most important item on the agenda is to approve a resolution concerning at Texas Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) of $275,000 for a water system improvement project.
The meeting will open with a request from Kendall and Jennifer Gaston to build a 30-by-40-foot shop.
Next, aldermen will look at the Easy Street Animal Shelter’s request for a dog walk, route and police escort.
The Saint Jo Chamber of Commerce has requested a campfire on the City Plaza for the “Santa on the Square” event.
The city is also examining a possible interlocal governmental contract for general administrative services with Nortex Regional Planning Commission based out of Wichita Falls.
The aldermen will discuss a possible juvenile curfew in the community and a policy for the Saint Jo police department concerning electronic equipment usage and data security.
The meeting will conclude with talks on the forthcoming holiday closing schedule, review financial statements and pay monthly bills. City employees will also give reports and the minutes from the Oct. 8 regular meeting will be approved.
A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter

Repairs prompt boil order
A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
