Bowie Council ready to interview candidates
Candidates for the Bowie city secretary will be interviewed in an executive session scheduled to start at 5 p.m. prior to the regular Bowie City Council agenda on Dec. 2.
The council opted to cancel the previously scheduled Dec. 1 meeting that had been set aside for interviews. In a brief called meeting on Dec. 20, the council members were given copies of the 14 applications and asked to rank their top five. It is unclear how many candidates the council will interview and that information was not available from the city office.

A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter
A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
