Terry Kent Bradfield
October 29, 1942-March 15, 2016
BOWIE — Terry Kent Bradfield, 73, went home to be with the Lord on March 15, 2016.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. March 20 in the drawing room of the White Family Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. March 19 at the White Family Funeral Home.
Terry was born Oct. 29, 1942 in Eunice, LA to Ford and LaJunta Bradfield. He spent much of his childhood with his family cruising the lake in his grandfather’s hand built boats in Blackwell, OK and playing sports for the Bowie Jackrabbits.
Terry was extremely athletic and went on to play football for Texas Tech. His love for sports carried on and he could usually be found at any Bowie Jackrabbits sporting event.
Terry was very well-known in Bowie for his 30-plus year occupation as a postman. He was a hard-working, humble man who took pride in honesty and excellence in all that he set his hands to do. Terry also was a business owner who loved contributing to his hometown, but most of all he was a loyal friend.
He loved his many friends who he remained very close with throughout all his days and could always be found with them planning trips to Colorado, hunting arrowheads, playing pranks or drinking coffee at their local hangout.
While Terry had many life accomplishments, he was most proud of his three daughters who he raised well and watched grow to raise their own families. He was a provider by nature and never ceased showering his girls with love, affection and being a strong arm for them to lean upon.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ford and LaJunta Bradfield; and his sister, Linda Kay.
Terry is survived by his daughters, Lori Reneau and husband Dustin, McKinney; Christie Craddock and husband Alvin, Bowie; Lindsey Bradfield and fiancee Colby Nunley, Bowie; grandchildren, Gavin, Corbin, Chloe, Cooper, AJ, Ellisa, Hannah, Baylee, Ashton, Avery and Abigail; nieces and nephews, Becky and husband Randy, Lisa, Craig, Lance; and great-nieces and nephews, Lindy, Dallas, Nichols, Camryn, Karsten, Landon, Addison and Annalise.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home, Bowie.

Petunia ‘relative,’ Calibrachoa shines
There is a new flower showing up at garden centers that is pure magic, in fact its official name is Superbells Magic Double Grapefruit. If you aren’t familiar with the name, it is a calibrachoa, a petunia relative. Double gives reference to flowers that in this case look like miniature roses.
Magic is your key descriptor telling you that the flower changes colors. The flowers start off a pleasant lemon yellow and then age to a rose pink.
Of course, to get to rose pink you have various shades along the way. Another magical aspect to me, the guru of captivating combinations is that it seems no matter the color you choose it will go with Superbells Magic Double Grapefruit calibrachoa.
