Precinct one makes progress; court to monitor CERTZ funds

Montague County Commissioner Bob Langford of precinct four has made no bones about it: If precinct one didn’t step up and start spending those county transportation infrastructure road funds, he was going to push to re-allocate the remaining funds come mid-July.

That potential blow-up was stalled Monday as Commissioner Herman Conway reported precinct one has made strong headway in the repairs spending nearly $400,000 in the past month.

The state funds are often called CERTZ funds due to the mandated creation of the county energy transportation reinvestment zone within all county receiving funds.
