Bowie city manager named to TPPA board
The Texas Public Power Association released news on the election of five new board members to assist in governing the organization in the years ahead.
The state trade association – the voice of public power across Texas – has a membership primarily composed of municipally owned electric utilities responsible for the generation and delivery of electricity to more than 5 million Texans.
The association’s nominating committee recommended the following board members for three-year terms (ending 2023), which was adopted by the membership:
Daniel Bethapudi, general manager, Georgetown Utility Systems; Bert Cunningham, city manager, City of Bowie; James Fisher, city manager, City of Brenham; James Hotopp, city manager, City of Weatherford and Steve Parker, city manager, City of Seguin. Read the full story in the mid-week Bowie News.
A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter
A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
