Nocona finalizes its election changes
The Nocona City Council approve a resolution that sets up the changes to its elections moving them from May to November next year.
At the Tuesday night session, councilors discussed Senate Bill 2620 which outlines how the City of Nocona, Nocona Independent School District and Nocona Hospital District can move its elections to new dates.
Many years ago the state provided an opportunity for entities to move their elections to coincide with the general elections in November, which can save money as they share the cost of putting on the election.

A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter
A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
