Texas is going to be the “epicenter” for the April 8 total solar eclipse as projections show Texas could see a million visitors for the solar show.
This will be one of the most watched eclipses ever as a path of totality 115 miles wide will cross North America from northern Mexico to southeastern Canada via parts of 15 U.S. states. There are more than 32 million who live on that path and Space.com compares that to the 12 million who lived in the path of totality during the last total solar eclipse on Aug. 21, 2017.
Michael Zeiler of GreatAmericanEclipse.com estimates between 931,000 and 3.7 million will travel from outside the path of totality on eclipse day. Where will most of those eclipse chasers go? Texas is expected to enjoy the most, followed by Indiana and Ohio with estimates of about half a million people each.

Judges have been named for the two cases involving 97th District Attorney Casey Hall, including the indictment for theft and a petition for removal as DA.
On July 11, Judge David L. Evans, presiding judge for the Eighth Administration Region of Texas, assigned E. Lee Gabriel to handle the indictment case against Hall. The judge then named Bruce McFarling for the removal petition case.
The two-term DA Hall was indicted by the Montague County Grand Jury July 15 on a charge of theft of property $2,500 to $30,000, a state jail felony. The allegations stem from reported misappropriation of state grant funds.
