Boston Red Sox right-handed pitcher Brandon Workman continues his rehabilitation stemming from Tommy John surgery.
Workman, a Bowie High School graduate, reports to JetBlue Park in Fort Myers, Fla., participating in prescribed drills as part of his recovery.
However, at some point this spring, the Red Sox will place Workman back on the disabled list with a possible return during the middle of the 2016 season.
“It’s obviously a really different spring training for me than any one I’ve ever had because I’m not playing,” Workman told Peter Abraham with the Boston Globe.
The Globe published a story on Workman dated March 11.
“But, I have my own goals, they’re just not game-related,” Workman continued. “I have stuff I’m working on, but it’s not getting hitters out.”
Workman suffered an elbow ligament tear early last season, and that ultimately led him to having Tommy John surgery. Read more in the March 19 Bowie News.
