AREA FOOTBALL: Saint Jo lets it slip away in third quarter

Published

on

The Saint Jo High School football team was down by just four points to Milford in the third quarter when the claws came off the Panthers.
Wyatt West scampered 45 yards for a touchdown on an interception return and Milford was ahead 24-20.
“We had momentum,” Saint Jo head coach Chad Tallon said. “But, then we had some injuries.”
Tallon said events snowballed quickly and Milford, which was a state finalist last year, recorded a 66-20 victory at Harley Sewell Field.
Saint Jo stands at 1-1.
The game was stopped with 5 minutes, 41 seconds left in the fourth quarter.
Saint Jo didn’t even muster 100 yards in total offense.
“We didn’t throw the ball well,” Tallon said.
Laramie Brawner was the Panthers’ top defensive player with 12 tackles, and he also rushed seven times for 31 yards and a touchdown. Read how Gold-Burg and Forestburg fared in the mid-week edition of The Bowie News, and see scoring summaries as well.
